The Spirit & The Practice
As a child, I watched my mother, together with my grandmother and aunts, knit and crochet sweaters and afghans, conversing all the while without dropping a stitch.
I loved being a silent witness, in the midst of this creative circle, filled with laughter.
I felt secure and comforted.
I was a witness to the weavers of dreams.
The strands of yarn remain a metaphor for my life, now in its seventh decade.
The colors of my life are brilliant.
Blue—
my Jewish roots and family of origin—
father, mother, sister, brother—
whose spirit continues to encourage mine.
Green—
my academic training and experience as a therapist and interspiritual director
and commitment to my own growth
Black—
the losses are many and in time and with process, bring new life, emerging out of death.
Red—
the Spirit awakening me
through many faith traditions to life within and without,
both our shared and unique
paths
Gold—
my present path interweaves all prior strands, with deepening awareness of the Spirit's presence in everyone and the sacredness of all life.
Thus my passion to walk with others into hidden, sensitive areas renewed by hope and healing.
Let us come together, experiencing our fears,
exploring the strands of our lives interwoven
with the lives of others.
Deep inner change nurtured and realized.
Let us sit together,
honoring one another,
inviting openness and vulnerability.
As witnesses and weavers,
we are heard and we learn to listen to one another,
our own inner voice and
the Spirit as one understands it.
Connect with me.
Spiritual direction individually and groups forming now.
Everyone welcome.
I would love to speak with you in person.
